We were proud to work alongside main contractor Laing O’Rourke and sub-contractor Crown House Technologies for end client the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, to make this Specialist Critical Care Unit a reality.

The 560-bed hospital is designed to provide critical care treatment for more than 600,000 people in South East Wales.

Our work included the electrical installation of plantrooms including all containment and low voltage cabling systems. We also completed the mechanical installation to wards and associated plantrooms including connections to pre-fabricated pipework modules and connections to all plant and equipment.

We also continued work throughout the Covid-19 pandemic – amending working practices to ensure the safety of all involved – and completed the works four months ahead of schedule.

We were especially proud of the fact that we were able to accelerate the work schedule on this project to ensure an early finish – despite the challenges of working through the pandemic.

This hospital will make a real and tangible difference to people’s lives for many decades to come – it was a pleasure to have played an important part in making it a reality.
